Other questions (unanswered) Why do most EL professors base grades and ratings only on examinations? Other criteria should also be taken into consideration like homework, seatwork, class recitation and attendance. Why not offer more languages? Why do we have a limited choice of fields to minor in? Would it be possible to have higher Russian classes given there would be enough demand? If I don’t want a career in teaching or in the DFA, as a BA EL student, what other avenues are open to me? What is the department’s “game plan” to redeem its Center of Excellence title? Why is not possible to minor in Linguistics?
