Step 2 – Reset the QB Updates by Downloading the Available Updates from the Help Menu
If your QuickBooks backup freezes, you need to ensure that the application is updated to the latest release.
• Open QuickBooks and click the Helptab to select the Update QuickBooks Desktop

• Go to the Update Now tab and checkmark the Reset Updatesoption to click Get Updates.
• Click OK to continue, and when QuickBooks asks for permission to install updates, click OKand exit the Update QuickBooks
• Restart QuickBooks Desktop and try to back up the company file once again to check if the backup error code is rectified.
