Scholarships THE ALUMNI HONORS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP was established in memory of all deceased alumni of Xavier High School. The scholarship is awarded to the members of the Class of 2017 who scored in the 95th percentile on the entrance exam. The recipient is Patrick Hocking. THE BR. DAVID EDDY ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP was established in memory of Br. David Eddy, a member of the Xaverian Brothers for 43 years and a member of the Xavier High School faculty from 1976 to 1985. The scholarship is awarded to the members of the Class of 2017 who scored in the 96th percentile on the entrance exam. The recipients are Thomas Blanchard, Sean Watson and Ryan Weis. THE THOMAS AIELLO ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP was established in memory of Mr. Aiello who had a 27 year career at Xavier High School serving as a teacher of mathematics and an assistant principal. The scholarship is awarded to the members of the Class of 2017 who scored in the 97th percentile on the entrance exam. The recipients are Peter Goggins and Trevor Morris. THE BISHOP VINCENT J. HINES ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP is named in honor of the late Most Rev. Vincent J. Hines, second Bishop of Norwich, who, along with the Congregation of the Brothers of St. Francis Xavier, founded Xavier in 1963. The scholarship is awarded the members of the Class of 2017 who scored in the 99th percentile on the entrance exam. The recipients are Dylan McCarthy, Ryan McNeil and Brett Myskowski. THE BROTHER ROBERT HONORS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP was established in honor of Br. Robert Sullivan, the first principal of Xavier High School and is awarded to the member of the Class of 2017 who achieved the highest score on the entrance exam. The recipient this year is Calvin Colby. FULL ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS are awarded each year to the student who earned the highest un-weighted grade point average in the freshman, sophomore and junior classes. This year’s recipients are Frederick Augur `16, Scott Mason `15, and Alexander Prete `14. THE BROWN-LAWTON SCHOLARSHIP was established by the Class of 1988 in loving memory of Todd Brown and Chris Lawton. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student entering his senior year who is using his gifts and talents for the betterment of Xavier High School and the greater community. The recipient is Ryan DeVille. THE CHRISTOPHER CARROZZELLA SCHOLARSHIP was established in memory of Christopher, a member of the Class of 2004, and is awarded to a student who excels in the area of Fine Arts. The recipient is Peter McEachern. THE DOUGLAS CROWELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP was established to recognize a student-athlete in grades 9-12 who has achieved academic success and who participates in cross country and track. The recipient is Zachary Williams. THE RICHARD FEITEL SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to a student entering his senior year who exemplifies the principles of Xavier’s motto “Be A Man,” academically, athletically and morally. The recipient is Connor Milone. THE FURSTENBERG SCHOLARSHIP was established in memory of Christian Furstenberg, a member of the Class of 1990. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student who reflects the values of scholarship, leadership and service which Christian exhibited. The recipient is Colin Wrinn. THE GARRITY SCHOLARSHIP was established to recognize a student who has excelled in the College Prep academic level. The recipient is Anthony DeNello. THE BROTHER HAROLD ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP was established by Mr. & Mrs. Bernard Pacholski, uncle and aunt of Brother Harold Prey, to recognize a student at the conclusion of his sophomore year who has excelled in the accelerated program. The recipient is Bryan Chaffee.
THE RONALD HARY SCHOLARSHIP was established in memory of Ronald Hary and is awarded to a student who demonstrates the ideals of a Catholic education. The recipient is Maxwell Tulimieri. THE HOLY FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP was established to recognize the second highest ranked student entering his sophomore year . The recipient is Abhishek Gupta. THE BROTHER HOULIHAN ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP was established to recognize a student in the College Prep academic level at the conclusion of his freshman year who has worked to his maximum potential throughout his initial year of study at Xavier. The recipient is Marco Rosano. THE ERIC KALBER SCHOLARSHIP was established in memory of Eric, a member of the Class of 2004, by his family. The scholarship is awarded to two students entering their junior year who have worked to their maximum potential. The recipients are Domenic DeDomenico and Peter Drabinski. THE GEORGE AND MARY KEITHAN `81 SCHOLARSHIP was established for a deserving Xavier student or student(s) in grade(s) ten through twelve who have achieved a 3.0 or higher grade point average in the previous school year. The recipient is Wesley Reid. THE ARTHUR KOHS SCHOLARSHIP was established by Mr. Arthur Kohs, Xavier’s first Director of Athletics, to recognize a young man entering his junior or senior year who lives out Xavier’s motto “Be A Man” and who exemplifies class, hustle and determination in and out of the classroom. The recipient is Luke Velez. THE KOREY LEE SCHOLARSHIP is awarded each year to a student entering his senior year who is taking a challenging English curriculum and has been active in community service. The recipient is Joseph Braun. THE ROBERT MICHALSKI SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to a student based on his “character, academic performance and athletic effort.” The recipient is Thomas Jackson. THE JOSEPH PAGANO SCHOLARSHIP was established in memory of Joseph, a member of Xavier’s Class of 1973, and is awarded to a student who excels in community service. The recipient is Joshua Swanson. THE THOMAS PIERCE SCHOLARSHIP was established to recognize a student entering his senior year who has excelled in the area of science. The recipient is Jason Corriveau. THE ST. MARK SCHOLARSHIP was established to recognize a transfer student who is headed into their second year at Xavier who has worked to his potential and met with academic success. The recipient is Robert DellaCamera. THE STAFF SGT. THOMAS SMITH SCHOLARSHIP was established by Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Smith in loving memory of their son, Thomas. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student entering his senior year who best exemplifies the spirit, character and values of Tom, a 1976 graduate of Xavier. The recipient is Jonah Cremin-Endes. THE JAMES V. TILLONA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP has been established in loving memory of Jamie Tillona, a proud member of the Xavier High School Class of 1996. Jamie was a loving son and brother who through his loyal and sincere friendships brought happiness to those whom he encountered. The scholarship is awarded to two incoming freshman whose entrance exam score, eighth grade transcripts and teacher recommendations show academic promise.
