Vacuums have some attachments that to catalyze the cleaning process. Attachments can be washed with soap solution, but before you do this, check the user manual first. Never soak attachments or hoses that have wirings, or components that are permanently connected to the vacuum. Return the attachments once they are fully dry. Step 4 Clean the brush. If you have an upright vacuum, lay it on the floor. Check the brush, roller, and beater bar. Pull out any clogged debris, strings, or hair that may be stuck. If needed, use scissors to cut out the stuck parts. Dampen a soft cloth, and wipe the exterior part of the unit. Wipe the power cord and check if there are no indications of damage cord.
