Founded in 1957 by Catholic Redemptorist Fathers, Ruamrudee International School (RIS) was one of the first international schools in Asia to be accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Today, RIS continues to deliver an outstanding academic program and is a model of excellence and innovation in global education. The school’s core values embed service learning, character development, and global citizenship in an enriched American curriculum. “Ruamrudee”, which is Thai for “union of hearts”, perfectly encapsulates the RIS philosophy of welcoming all children, emphasizing social responsibility, and ensuring a caring learning environment. An IB World School since 1998, RIS offers a rigorous and extremely successful International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and is one of the region’s only schools to also simultaneously offer the Advanced Placement program. For the past five years, RIS IB Diploma students have scored an average of 35, far above world averages. In 2019, RIS expanded its opportunities for students with the opening of its Ratchapruek campus in Bangkok’s Nonthaburi district and more recently the RIS Early Years campus on Prayasuren Road in 2020.
