Ibn Khuldoon National School (IKNS) is a non-profit self supporting coeducational institution that is dedicated to providing high quality education for local and expatriate students. The school offers a bilingual programme of study for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. IKNS students can communicate in both Arabic and English with ease and lucidity from an early stage of their lives. A diverse faculty, whether teaching in Arabic or English, provide a rich and supportive learning environment for students. The faculty is supported by a dedicated team of administrative and support staff. At the top level of the school’s governance stand the board of trustees, board of directors and specialist committees. Their members volunteer their expertise, time and effort to ensure that the school is always heading in a forward direction. IKNS opened its doors to students in 1983. The first group of students walked up the graduation stage in 1992. Since then, the institution has graduated more than 2,100 young men and women, with a current student population of 1,700. IKNS has been affiliated with the International

Baccalaureate (IB) since 1990, as an IB Diploma Programme provider. The first group of students sat for the IB Diploma examinations in 1992. Since then, the IB Diploma has been a popular choice for motivated students at IKNS. IKNS received its PYP authorization in May, 2020. It is also a MYP candidate school. In addition to the IB Diploma, IKNS offers an American high school diploma. A large number of high school diploma students opt to study one or more DP courses. IKNS students go on to complete their tertiary education in different parts of the world including UK, USA, Canada and Arab countries, many gaining admission to prestigious institutions. The school received its full accreditation from the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) in 1994, and it continues to be in good standing with the association. The Accredited status of the school affirms that it provides the level of quality in its educational programmes, services, activities and resources expected by its stakeholders. IKNS continues to be rated as an “Outstanding School” by the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA).
