Chennai-based KV George is the Hon. Secretary of Madras Medical Mission & President of Union Christian Association (UCA), Chennai, which runs a School, Nursing School, & School of Physiotherapy & Paramedical Sciences – all at Chennai. An industrialist, he is also the Chairman of Kottukulam Engineers Pvt. Ltd., Chennai. The other noted educationalist on the Saintgits Board is Dr. PC Varghese BSc, BSc (Engg.), MS, ME (Harvard), PhD, who retired as Chief Technical Adviser of UNESCO & Prof. & HOD of Civil Engineering, IIT, Chennai. The Board also has a well-respected retired bureaucrat, Varghese Anver, BSc (Engg.), IRSE, who was the General Manager of Southern Railway. The Saintgits Management is also distinguished by a dominance of engineers – exactly how it should be for an engineering college. Led by CEO Er. Punoose George, BSc (Engg.), MIE, LLM, the team includes Er. Oomen Varghese as Treasurer, and Er. K George, Er. Varghese Philip, Er. Joseph Varghese & Er. Sinu Philip, as Members. Not only this year, ever since our inception, we have been one of the engineering colleges most in demand. This year, despite the reduction in fees at government self-financing colleges too, the bulk of our merit quota was filled up quickly, barely a week after counselling started. g How was the response for management quota seats? We have never faced a problem in management quota, because we offer the kind of superior facilities that management & NRI quota students and their parents are looking for. Over the years, the emerging difference is that our management quota is virtually getting ‘filled up’ long before the entrance itself! g What are the reasons for Saintgits being in demand? Well, Saintgits has never compromised on how an engineering college should run, on the infrastructure, faculty, or future oriented support. g Can you tell us more about this future oriented support?
