Market Needs:

In the current economical climate it is more important than ever for companies to stand out from their competitors - this is how they gain interest from potential customers. Managing Marketing Risks Making risks less of a threat:

Lack of trade. We intend to reduce this threat by holding monthly networking event to promote our company and increase trade. Continuing trade/return business. Quality of service - we will build lasting relationships with our clients.

Promotion and Advertising:

Direct mail - outs: seasonal portfolio networking events. Our portfolio will showcase our most recent client-based work in order to entice potential clients. Publication advertisements run in local newspapers and Creative Review.

Running the Business Staff

Only two members of the team in the studio at one point. The third and fourth member schmooze and research extensively.

Duke Studios encourages collaboration with like-minded creatives therefore this offers a perfect place of residence for our first year of trade.

Overheads

We calculated our overheads based on standard expenditure costs including rent (at £399/month at Duke Studios); software - Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office and various studio equipment, travel and research costs and so on, amounting to £17,609.05 - funded through personal funding, grants and / or Natwest start-up business loan up to the value of £25000.

Daily charge rate

Our annual income required is £100,000 alongside the total overhead costs of £17609.05. Using these values, and based on 244 available work days, our minimum daily charge rate as ‘Craft’ (all 4 members) is £482. As we intend to offer the most effective and affordable service as possible, the amount we can charge can be anything above £482. A daily charge rate of £600 as craft (£75 p/h or £18.75 ppph) will provide an annual pre-tax profit of £28,792 and a total net profit of £23,033.60. Aforementioned, this will account for various contingency costs.
