WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR? (And Why Does He Need Me?)

Biblical Worldview of Servanthood

ELEMENTARY

This course encourages students to develop a Christ-like servant attitude modeled on Jesus’ example of washing His disciples’ feet (John 13). This text uses stories, analogies, Scriptures, related topics of interest, art, vocabulary words, memory verses, discussion questions, activities, writing suggestions, and more to develop the following biblical truths related to our role of serving others: God created His image-bearers to love and serve one another; God made the family where we are to serve one another; sin causes disharmony among people; and Jesus died to bring me into a new family of harmony called the church. An added feature of Who Is My Brother? is a miniseries, consisting of eight Bible stories about men and women who were blessed by personal encounters with Jesus during His life on earth. These paraphrased narratives are fleshed out with imaginative detail that attempts to accurately reflect what life was like for the protagonist and his or her family and friends as well as how the experience demonstrates an important aspect of servanthood.
