CEO, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute A former Microsoft executive, Taylor is the CEO of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, named to the post last year. Taylor spent more than eight years as the director of citizenship and public affairs, North America for Microsoft. Prior to Microsoft, she created and led national and global grant programs for the Ford Foundation and the Benton Foundation. She has served as a delegate to four global summits of the United Nations in Africa, Switzerland, China, and Egypt.

Beckenstein is a board-certified, fully credentialed plastic surgeon who completed fellowships and residencies around the country. He has extensive experience in reconstructive and plastic surgery. Born and raised in New York, Beckenstein earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Union College in Schenectady, New York. In 1987, he received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk Virginia. He was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. During his fellowships at Georgetown University and in Birmingham, he developed expertise in cosmetic (aesthetic) surgery of the face and the body, as well as the latest liposuction methods.
