through digital drawing to create and find how the curve shape of pleat could tranform and bring the idea ofmulti-functional wear.

The first goal is to explore the experimentation of multi-functional wear of clothes and experementing rice field aesthetics in designs.

The second goal is to create a beautiful constructive and functional design by using origami paper folding technique . It is not only to change the aesthetics of people's dressing but also to provide the possibility of multiple ways of wearing.

The process is to try two sizes of 1 in 2 and 1 in 4 circles. These two types of circles can give different effects, the 1 in 2 circle can show the full body curve, while the 1 in 4 circle is a short size more suitable for showing the curve in the sleeves.

Pleated fabric can also be made from a variety of materials, such as silk, cotton, polyester, and even leather, which can a ect its texture and drape.

In the end, I tried many times. This is the final fabric I chose to use thicker cotton and polyester fibers.

These two fabrics are more able to achieve the visual effect of the current squeeze. This style is unisex and can be worn by men, showing a soft and intellectual feeling. Women can wear elegant temperament.

Pattern Makikng Process

By draping process, marking the curve shape of the pleat on the faric, therefore copying the pattern then transforming it into a flat pattern making the pattern of the blazer has curved shape design line. To make this collection more wearable, the face and lining are made more refined.

The collar part was later modified to use curved pleats patterns instead.

The pattern design ing line and the pleats are sewn together, and then a part of the pleats is hand-sewn to prevent the pleats from losing the design and the structure .

During the process, different sizes are stacked to see the effect.

At first the look was supposed to be symmetrical. but after placing the pleat i discovered it would be better to let the pleat lead the wavy line.

Most of the pleats are designed to be fixed on the clothes. The sewing process is difficult because the pleats are difficult to use on the sewing machine, so most of the pleats are fixed by hand sewing.

The shoulders and sleeves are mostly presented with curling techniques. I think it has the perfect arc to show.

During the journey, I have learned a lot, especially as an international student here.I have seen myself grow a lot. I think my creative strengths lie in these di erent areas. I was diving into various areas of fashion including knitwear, fashion management, and 3D pattern design has made me an innovative and open-minded artist bringing positive solutions to the fashion industry.

I think my ability to combine the constructive design into a pattern has improved a lot. I think most of the students will avoid pattern-making design. because people see it as a di cult subject to learn. For this module, I mainly mastered the possibility of combining the at pattern with the 3D pattern. For this strength and ability, I believe in the future the fashion industry will have some help and e ect presentation, bringing a new aesthetic to this industry.

Moreover, I have improved the design development area to see and create a collection, by understanding and doing research, which has helped me a lot to cultivate my design and the process. especially the development of the silhouette on this project. I think the main success lies in my origami paper folding technique on the mannequin to see and observe my design development ability.Lastly, I believe my other strength is to present the collection from the mannequin to the 2D digital drawing with great a ection for the line-up.

My main area should be the way to combine the curve pleat pattern with the blazer pattern, which is having the ability to combine the 3D structure with the at pattern making, and knowing the position to input the fabric the others are the color for the collection and materials the fabric, I believe these two are the main e ect to lead the success of the project. If I wanna do further development for this project I would say try to discover and experiment with di erent colors or fabrics to imply the pleats and practice more on the pattern making to make it more sophisticated, and delicate. Of course, doing more research and sketching to help and make the idea of this project stronger.

If I have the opportunity to re-do the project I would de nitely do it di erently depending on the color of the fabric, even the material, and combine di erent sizes of the pleats to make it more diverse. The rst idea was combined with knitting textiles. If I could manage my time wisely I wish I could focus on the knitting textiles part. I do think my nal outcome for the picture should be better.I would say it is my ambition which leads me to challenge myself. pushing forward for the curve pleat technique on fabric and paper, I think having a mindset for creating bold design is a good thing as students we shouldn't limit our ideas based on the industry. We can challenge ourselves while we can.

I think this module de nitely has challenged my idea with the fashion industry, and have received a lot of information about the sustainability areas. I have always been inspired by the natural diversity itself which we can learn to respect, therefore to understand the values and aesthetics by incorporating these elements into designs. This will bring new inspiration to creativity.
