Kristin Erb Assistant Coach
• First year at JMU • Serves as the team’s pitching coach as well as first base coach • Joined the JMU staff on August 15, 2011 • Comes to JMU after one season as an assistant coach at Austin Peay where she served as the team’s pitching coach • While at Austin Peay, she oversaw all aspects of the pitching staff, including developing in season and off season pitching workouts, charting the pitching staff for evaluation, and working with the catchers on game-calling strategies • Prior to Austin Peay, she spent a season as an assistant coach for Lock Haven University where she worked with the team’s pitchers and catchers and also served as the first base coach • Was a four-year letterwinner at Lock Haven • Went 168-18 with a 0.39 ERA while recording 1,388 strikeouts and 100 shutouts for the Eagles • Ranks first in Division II history in victories, single-season wins (50), shutouts, games started (171), innings pitched (1,240), and consecutive scoreless innings pitched (86 1/3) • In addition, she tossed seven career perfect games and 13 no-hitters • Four-time NFCA All-American • Two-time winner of the Honda Award for National Player of the Year and a three-time Daktronics Pitcher of the Year • Pitched for two seasons in the National Pro Fastpitch League, spending one year each with the Philadelphia Force and the Tennessee Diamonds.
