MONTHLY HIGHLIGHTS We are a Reno-nation! This month my entire focus has been on renovation. If you missed my top tips in bathroom renovations then I hope you got my video on how to get a luxury five star look on a small budget. If you are considering this option check out the article. There is also a handy summary of the discounts for first home buyers, State by State. As well as an article on how your parents can help you buy. There is a great article on releasing equity from your home and buying with a small deposit. Make sure you check out page 42. In this article I was asked to discuss positive cash flow and negative gearing and which strategy suits different types of investors.
Your Investment Property Magazine How to make a profit in renovation is the cover story of the month. Residex has provided the Top 50 suburbs where there is pricing disparity between unrenovated and renovated properties. I feel particularly proud of suggesting to Founder John Edwards that Residex could use their information to generate such a report and here it is. In my course The Ultimate Guide to Renovation I actually use this report as one of many tools to locate not just the suburb but the street to buy in.
Australian Property Investor Magazine How would you like to make a year’s salary out of property? This month API interviews people who did just that. The wonderful Wendy Chamberlain shares her story on how she even did this in her SMSF (Self Managed Super Fund). Then check out my article on how to choose a mortgage broker. There is a fabulous article on cross- collaterisation and also what actually happens behind closed doors on settlement day. This edition is bursting at the seams with great information.
