THE CLUB LOVE BUILT

Click to send us mail!

Greetings to you all from our slice of paradise. My what a year it has been. We have had so many owners come to visit and decide its time to start building! We’re so excited to see our community growing and all these amazing people joining us on this journey. What a great adventure this life is. Casa Club is coming together! We invite you to come see for yourself and enjoy our newest addition to Vistas del Lago. The clubhouse or Casa Club as it is affectionately known, is not only a social hub of the community but its central nervous system. Inside you can finalize building plans at the office; get a workout or a sandwich; schedule a massage, facial, nail or hair appointment and don’t forget the best cup of cappuccino on the lake. It sure makes living in the jungle with all the beautiful nature that surrounds us an extra blessing. We look forward to seeing all our neighbors here and having frequent vacationers, family & friends here often. It has been so fun and we truly feel blessed by you all.

The stonework on the exterior walls of the clubhouse is changing the appearance from Tuscan Villa to time tested fortress

Please let us know if you have any comments or would like us to add news or photos from you. We love hearing from you.

Skip & Ann Slater’s newest grandson Joey (left) was born in November. Younger Son Danny (below) just graduated from the same training squadron Skip did almost 37 years ago. He very proudly pinned the same wings on his son that his mother pinned on him. As a Dad, it doesn't get any better than that. Danny now moves to NAS Lemoore, CA to train on the F-18 Super Hornet. Think we can get a fly-over, Danny?

John & Gigi’s grandson Félix was born on May 28th and their daughter Megan married Sean McNorton on July 5th. Two wonderful events to celebrate!

Clubhouse Progress The kitchen is full swing! Everybody’s new favorite friend and welcome addition to the Vistas Family is Margarita. She passed her first test feeding the lot of us a delicious and nutritious breakfast a la Tica. We had “Tipico” which means typical or tradional meal of fried farmer’s cheese, Gallo Pinto (rice and beans), scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, and fried plantains.

WELCOME to the family MARGARITA!

Catching the Gingerbread Man We were blessed with the opportunity to catch up with everyone’s favorite Chef Eyal when he came to give us some lessons in how to use the professional kitchen. Guests enjoyed spending quality time with him in the kitchen and three types of pasta at Brad’s request. Five cheese, Bolognese and Rib-meat pasta.

FYI: Our rental casitas are $100/ night, special rate $75 for residents

“más o menos” “mahs o menohs” = “more or less”

You can use “más o menos” in response to many common questions just as you would in the states. It also works as an indicator of quantity or quality. Por ejemplo (for example), “Habla Espanol?” Do you speak Spanish? or “Le gusta espagueti?” Do you like spaghetti?

Let the wedding planning commence!

Vamos! Vamos! Los Ticos! While Costa Rica was eventually eliminated in the quarter finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, we are no less proud to be part of the first Central American Country in history to have made it so far. It was fierce competition and the passion was palpable for weeks during the event. Costa Ricans are a spirited, happy people by nature. They gathered in large groups to form parades on every main street in the nation, including us passionate extranjeros in the fun. No one was immune to the contagion!
