"Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it." - Edward Bok Landscape architecture is a combination of my passions. It involves art, design, environmental concern, sustainability, science, and social sciences. I feel the need to make a difference in the world and to better the lives of others, even in subtle ways. Landscape architecture allows me to pursue my interests and sculpt the spaces in which we live, work, and play every day.

Depot Village____ Site Design and Planning Studio

A view of the bustling main street through Depot Village looking westward towards the fountain plaza. The buildings along this street are multiuse and include shopping and dining options on the ground floor and residences on the upper floors.

Site Plan The proposed community of Depot Village, located south of downtown Gainesville and southeast of the new multimillion dollar Depot Park, is a vibrant, beautiful, and important part of the city. Built on a polluted urban lot previously used for the RTS bus headquarters and servicing center, this project aims to reconnect the site with the surrounding city grid, and make it a destination and functional community within the city.

Informed Design

The site inventory, analysis, and synthesis were essential in shaping the final design. The lack of pedestrian access, transit information, and the zoning of the site all had a key role in the decesion to design a multiuse neighborhood with an emphasis on connectivity and complete streets.

Gainesville Memorial Park’s purpose is to epitomize the essence of Gainesville, Florida’s history, culture, and surrounding natural features. Such features include springs, seepage streams, sinkholes, wetlands, and forests — all of which are symbolically represented in this park. The park serves as both a relaxing and activated space. Water play features, lounging areas, and an event plaza are just a few of the features included in the park. A timeline wall is also present, documenting some of Gainesville’s key moments in history that have made it the diverse and unique cultural hub it is today.

Back Bay Fens, is a well known park located in Boston, Massachusetts. Designed by Frederick Law Olmstead in the 1800s, it was not a project about designing a specific site, but rather a study in communicating design. Over the course of two semesters, section renderings, perspective renderings, site analysis diagrams, regional and city maps, and other graphics were created to communicate the site and its design in all aspects. Each of these were different assignments but the object was to create a wholesome and cohesive study of one site.
