BGSU men’s soccer releases and other information can be accessed via the internet. Log on to BGSUFalcons.com to receive information on all 18 of BGSU’s intercollegiate sports. The men’s soccer site includes a schedule, roster, all press releases, results, boxscores and up-to-date statistics as well as historical program information and other Falcon men’s soccer informative items. Members of the media can request to receive releases and notes via email by contacting Mike Cihon (mjcihon@bgsu.edu) in the BGSU Strategic Communications office.

CREDENTIALS / PRESS BOX SEATING

Admission to BGSU home soccer matches is free, but press box space is very limited. Press and photo credentials for Falcon home soccer events should be requested at least 2-3 days in advance of the match you wish to cover. Seating is limited to working press only. Requests should be directed to Mike Cihon (mjcihon@bgsu.edu).

INTERVIEWS

All interviews with players and coaches should be arranged through the strategic communications office. Please allow at least 24

hours (longer, if possible) to set up interviews. Phone numbers for

student-athletes (in any sport) will not be made available. Studentathletes will not be asked to miss class for any interviews or media opportunities. Arrangements will be made for telephone and/or inperson interviews at a mutually-agreeable time.

RADIO, TV & INTERNET BROADCASTS

Requests for permission to broadcast must be made to Mike Cihon at least one week prior to the match. NOTE: Since all of BGSU’s home matches are streamed, there is not room inside the press box for additional announcers or broadcasting entities. Anyone interested in an additional radio/TV/internet broadcast would need to announce from the roof of the press box.

PHOTOGRAPHERS

While admission is free, photographers and videographers will need a credential to shoot from the sidelines. Please see a member of the BGSU athletic communications or soccer game operations staff prior to the match. Photographers may not stand in the team bench areas, and may not block the view of fans at any time.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING

The quickest way to Cochrane Stadium is via Interstate 75. Take exit 181 off of I-75 and head west (toward Doyt Perry [football] Stadium) on Wooster Street. Turn right at the second light (Mercer Road). Proceed past the BGSU Ice Arena and turn right on Stadium Drive. The Cochrane Stadium parking area will be on your right. Parking is free. (NOTE: In the event of inclement weather, fans and media members may be asked to park in the Slater Family Ice Arena, ice arena overflow or Perry Stadium lots.)

POST-MATCH PROCEDURE

Post-game interviews will be conducted on the field, approximately 10 minutes after the conclusion of the game unless circumstances dictate otherwise. Contact a member of the strategic communications staff to set up an interview with Coach Eric Nichols or a BGSU men’s soccer student-athlete.

The first game under the lights in program history came on Oct. 22, 2011, as the Falcons took on Hartwick College, and a large contingent of BGSU men’s soccer alumni came back to Bowling Green to witness the historic event. That group of alums included Gary Kovacs (left photo, second from right), who was a major donor in the Cochrane Field lights project. Kovacs was recognized on the field at that match.
