Signum Fidei is the motto and official Seal of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. Signum Fidei is Latin for “Sign of Faith”. In 1751 is was decreed that the Seal of the Institute would be a star of shining silver on a blue shield, with this motto recalling the fundamental virtue from which venerable De La Salle wanted his disciples to draw the spirit which should drive them: Signum Fidei; the use of it was reserved exclusively to the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. The use of the full color Seal is strictly reserved for use by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. The Christian Brothers of the NO-SF District have graciously granted Mullen High School permission to use a blue and gold version of the Seal if the following standards are met.
The Seal is used as a representation of identity. The Seal is not combined with any other marks, graphic elements, or words. The Seal is not used for decoration. Do not recreate the Seal. Use approved, unaltered versions of the Seal only. Submit written requests for the logo from Mullen’s Director of Marketing along with logo use details. (see page 9) The Seal may be used on athletic uniforms in the form of a patch only. The Seal may not be used on give-away promotional items or spirit wear such as T-shirts, warm ups, mugs, key chains, etc. The Seal may be used on print publications in an unaltered format.
