TRANSFORMING

A grass-roots township community effort, the Brothers are a group of approximately fifty under-resourced young men – aged early teens to early thirties- who have banded together to push back against the darkness within their communities; abuse, drugs, illiteracy, unemployment, rape, crime, broken families, corruption. Gathering daily at the Litsemba Center, these young men are meeting on their own initiative to grow in practical skills, character, and spiritual maturity. They actively seek to take their lives and communities from “minus to plus”.

And so you can see the plans for 2014 for Meniscus Inc, and we hope that you will become a part of our team and our community – SERVING, EQUIPPING, TRANSFORMING. SERVING individuals and communities, especially the oppressed and the under-resourced, in a relation-based and honoring manner. EQUIPPING with best-practices training and skills toward holistic community development; psychological, social, economic, and spiritual. Kindling TRANSFORMATION –from minus to plus- as individuals, families, communities, and cultures are healed, restored and transformed by the power of a living God.

We are seeing it happen in Africa and Appalachia, in homes and in churches and in whole communities. Cultures can be changed. Be a part of it. Your contribution has a direct impact. Your recommendation to others spreads the word. Are we a community development organization? Are we a humanitarian aid organization? Are we a missions organization? Are we a ministry school for ordinary people? Are we a church planting support team? Are we committed to following Jesus in Africa and in America? Yes.

“Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and the loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world.” James 1:27 “The thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” Jesus, John10:10 “Whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God –the free life!- even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks to it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action.” James 1:25
