TRAILS

1 Crystal Springs Recreation Area 276-223-3378. 1800 acre recreation area with 12 miles of hiking/mountain biking loop trails. Parking access off Pump Hollow Lane (SR 684) off Rte. 21 south of Wytheville, VA. 2 Walker Mtn. Trail / Monster Rock Trail – Starts at the Big Walker Lookout Tower off Rte. 52. Ends at the Appalachian Trail in Crawfish Valley. 12 miles of trail total on natural surface. 3 Seven Sisters – The trail heads are at the Stony Fork Campground on the right hand side of Krenning Road (SR 717) 0.3 miles from US 52 at parking area on the right side of Krenning Road (SR 717) or 2.9 miles from US 52 heading east and 1.1 mile back from I-77. 4 Rural Retreat Lake Loop Accessed from Rural Retreat Lake Road (SR 677) to Lake Road (SR 678). 3.1 miles of trails.

www.fishvirginiafirst.com 1 Rural Retreat Lake – Located at Rural Retreat Lake Campground, this 90 Acre Fishing Lake (Musky, Channel Catfish, Sunfish, Bass, Crappie and Trout Fishing Pond). Small pond is stocked with trout year around (bank fishing on trout pond only). Can be accessed from Rural Retreat Lake Road (SR 677) to Lake Road (SR 678). Bank and nonmotorized boat fishing only. 2 Cripple Creek – Stocked trout fishing and private trophy trout fishing along the sparkling clear Cripple Creek mountain water (Rainbow, Brook, Brown and Golden Trout). Accessed off Cedar Springs Road (SR 612) in Speedwell, VA. Bank and wade fishing only. 3 East/West Fork Dry Run – Native Wild Brook Trout Stream located just south of Speedwell, VA in the Jefferson National Forest. Can be accessed from Rte. 21 and Forest Highway 57. Bank and wade fishing only. 4 Venrick Run – Native Wild Rainbow Trout Stream in the Crystal Springs Recreation area near the Big Survey Wildlife Management Area just south of the Town of Wytheville. Can be accessed from Pump Hollow Lane (SR 684) off Rte. 21 south of Wytheville, VA. Bank and wade fishing only. Special regulation catch and release only. 5 New River – The river offers class I-IV rapids in certain areas of the River. Available fishing includes Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Musky, Channel Catfish and more. View map for all the boat launching locations. Bank, wading in shallow areas, kayaking, canoeing and motorized boating.
