Jim Bakker Jim Bakker is a pioneer of Christian Television. From humble beginnings, he rose to build one of the largest ministries in the world. As a young man, Jim was called to “make Jesus real” to the world. During the golden era of television, he was divinely inspired on what medium he could use to do just that. He dreamed of a night-time Christian talk show-one that could display the format and quality of The Tonight Show hosted (at that time) by Johnny Carson. In 1966, his dream came true. While hosting a children’s show on Pat Robertson’s fledgling Christian station in Virginia, Jim became the founder and host for the first Christian talk show – “The 700 Club”. Next, he co-founded TBN and then the PTL and Inspirational Television Networks. Today, Jim hosts “The Jim Bakker Show” which is an hour-long daily broadcast seen on over 50 affiliates throughout the United States, over 600 cities in Canada, and in over 200 countries around the world through Direct TV, Dish Network and 8 worldwide satellites. His number one passion, however, is to train the next generation of Christian television broadcasters by giving them the tools to dream and create media for their generation to continue in spreading the Gospel to all the world. Jim’s show is broadcast from a new Christian Retreat Center called “Morningside” just outside Branson, Missouri. This 600acre property is a planned community owned and built by Jerry Crawford. Lori Bakker Lori Bakker, born Lori Beth Graham, was raised in a middle class church attending family in Phoenix, Arizona. By the age of 22, a life of partying, drugs, and rock n’ roll that had begun during her early teen years had culminated in five abortions. By 1985, Lori had survived a ten-year marriage plagued by abuse and domestic violence. On Easter Sunday, 1989, Lori made a life changing decision to attend Phoenix First Assembly of God. It was there that she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and stepped out on a journey of spiritual growth that began with the Master’s Commission discipleship program. Lori served almost a decade with Master’s Commission during its formative years. In 1991, Lori received her ministerial credentials. It was this experience with the Master’s Commission discipleship program that inspired her dream to train other young people in the Morningside Media’s Master program. National and international television audiences have embraced Lori through her appearances on programs that include Larry King Live, Good Morning America, The Today show, James Robison’s Life Today and a host of other notable broadcasts. Together, Jim and Lori established “The Jim Bakker Show” and continue to host a one-hour, daily TV program that is shown throughout the United States and around the world. She also speaks to audiences globally with the refreshing candor that has come to characterize her ministry; encouraging them to become the people of destiny God has called them to be.

Questions & Answers What Is Morningside? Morningside is the 600-acre campus of The Jim Bakker Show and Christian retreat center. The beautiful two-mile-long Peaceful Valley, located in Morningside, is the home of the new rustic Tabernacle, the brand new training facility and worship center for Morningside Master’s Commission. Located in the valley also are camping cabins, privately owned for vacationing and permanent residency. The Jim Bakker Show is produced daily from Grace Street, an “Old World” styled television studio with functioning shops, restaurants, chapel, and youth center. Grace Street is also home to over 100 beautiful condominiums. Many Christians have built their permanent homes, condos, and duplexes, as well as rented apartments at Morningside. Where Is Morningside? Morningside is snuggled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains across beautiful Table Rock Lake from Branson, Missouri. Morningside is located off of Highway 86, west of Route 65, just before Highway 13. Although Branson is actually a small village of approximately 7,000 residents, the annual tourist count is almost 10 million people. Branson is a family-oriented vacation destination with more theatre seats than Broadway and is one of the major discount factory shopping areas of the world. Almost all of the 100 live shows playing in Branson are family friendly and many are Christcentered, such as the Dino Christmas Show and the magnificent 50 million dollar Sight & Sound Theatre featuring exclusively Biblical productions such as the epic story of Noah. Table Rock and Taneycomo Lakes are major destinations for family boating and fishing fun. Branson has just opened its new airport, Branson Airport, located just 20 minutes from Morningside. Located in downtown Old Branson on Lake Taneycomo is the new beautiful Branson Landing shopping and restaurant area. The Landing is just one example of the many destinations, campgrounds, marinas, museums, caverns, shopping centers, theme parks, approximately 400 restaurants, and wonderful parks within minutes of Morningside. How Old Can I Be To Apply For Morningside Master’s Media? You are eligible to apply for the first year of discipleship at Morningside Master’s Media if you are of at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. We do not accept anyone over 25 years of age. If you have completed one year in another affiliated Master’s Commission Program, you are eligible to apply for our Second Year Leadership Training Program. Only those who have completed two previous years in Master’s Commission may apply for our Third Year Leadership program accompanied by an endorsement from a previous Master’s Commission administration.

When Does The 2012-2013 Program Begin and End? Due to the flexible structure of our discipleship & apprenticeship program, we accept students at any point during the year for a nine-month term. For tracking purposes, we have official starting points the second Mondays in January, April, July and October. Where Do The Students Live? Students will live in brand new facilities in either dorm style condominiums and/or the Tabernacle dorms located in the Peaceful Valley, wherever space is available. Is Master’s Media Like A College? Master’s Media certainly has an academic element. We balance academics with a hands-on learning approach to all areas of the ministry. Although highly spiritual, Morningside Master’s Media feels it is very important to remain practical. Can I Obtain Ministerial Credentials From Master’s Media? Yes, if you meet the requirements set forth by Morningside Church. Is There Any Financial Aid Available? We do have several scholarship programs. Please contact our office at 417.779.9000 for more information. How Does The Average Student Pay For This Program? Almost every person who will come to Morningside Master’s Media will have a different story of how God provided for them financially. Most parents and family assist students while others are sponsored by churches and support letters. Even local businesses have been known to help sponsor ambitious Master’s Media students. Others work summer jobs to save up for their tuition. Many of the support stories truly are miracles, and for that reason we agree with you in prayer that if God has called you, He will supply the finances for the school year. How Do I Pay For Food And Additional Expenses? We suggest that in addition to your tuition that each student brings with them an amount they need for personal items and food. Morningside Master’s Media is dedicated to helping students with some groceries and personal items as God supplies. Are There Payment Plans Available? Morningside Master’s Media does offer a payment plan for those who need this service. These students are required to sign a contract for payment installments. When Is The Tuition Portion Due? The entire tuition fee is due upon arrival and registration by the first day of Morningside Master’s Media unless prior arrangements have been made. If I Apply And Can Not Attend, Do I Need To Apply Again? Yes. Applications are not carried over from year to year. 1. You never know what will happen on “The Jim Bakker Show.” 2. One of the tabernacles’s fully furnished dorm rooms. 3 & 4. Shop all you want in Morningside’s General Store. It features a wide selection of books, music, Christian gift items as well as a small grocery and health food section. 5. Master’s Students having fun at a shoot. 6. What Is The Application Process? After we receive your application, the application selection committee will review it. You may be contacted for additional information by phone or US Mail. When Will I Find Out If I Am Accepted? You will be notified by one of our staff members via phone or US Mail. What If I Apply And Then Change My Mind About Coming? We ask that you, as soon as possible, notify our office so that we may extend the opportunity to another student in the event that you decide not to attend. Will My Cell Phone Work At Morningside? We are in a rural area, but we do have a Verizon Wireless cell tower at our location. Sprint and AT&T subscribers currently receive weak signals and may experience areas without service. Are You Allowed To Work While At Master’s Commission? Students are not allowed to work due to the demanding schedule of Morningside Master’s Media, where classes and ministry require a commitment of 24 hours a day and 7 days a week during the school year. Am I Allowed To Take Online Classes? Due to the intensity of the Morningside Master’s Media program, students are not allowed to take online college classes during the school year. What Is The Second-Year And Third-Year Programs? We encourage numerous students to continue here for their second and third years. The these programs are geared towards leadership training and development. Students graduate from being just the recipient of the program to a part of the leadership team and learn to shoulder the responsibilities of running the operations, scheduling, events, training, student development, travel teams and a myriad of other opportunities. Can I Still Come If I Am Enlisted In The Military Reserves? Yes. It is our goal to accommodate everyone who comes to Morningside Master’s Media. If you have chosen to serve our country in this great and honorable way, we will find a way to work your situation out so you can benefit from all Morningside Master’s Media has to offer. How Can I Stay On My Parent’s Medical Insurance? Most Insurance Companies will usually recognize students in college to be under their parent’s insurance programs. When you receive your acceptance packet, it will contain a sample letter to send to your insurance company.

Is Tuition Tax Deductible? No. Even though Morningside Master’s Media is a ministry of the local church, donations are the only items that are tax deductible. Since the program’s fees are considered “tuition,” this unfortunately does not apply. Can Married Couples Come To Master’s Media? Generally, no. However, each situation is different. It has been our experience that Master’s Media works best for single men and women. The schedule is very demanding and requires massive amounts of time and dedication. The schedule can be especially strenuous for couples with children. Because of all the requirements, it is best to not attend Morningside Master’s Media if you are married. Am I Allowed To Date? A major goal here at Morningside Master’s Media is to have each student give one full year to God, whole hearted and undistracted. This seems like one big restriction, however it turns out to be one big relief! The students know that everyone is there for the one purpose-the pursuit of Christ. If I Have Already Completed My First Year Of Master’s Commission Elsewhere, Can I Come To Morningside For My Second Year? Yes! Simply fill out our application and send it to us. We will contact you and your past director for a recommendation. Are There Any Special Lifestyle Requirements At Morningside Master’s Media? Under NO circumstances are smoking and/or substance abuse permitted during your tenure at Morningside Master’s Media. No profanity or sexual innuendo, harassment, or misconduct will be tolerated. Pornography is prohibited. What Is The Application Deadline? We accept applications at any time. Do Morningside Master’s Media Students Get Time Off? During scheduled breaks, students are welcome to leave or stay at the ministry. Typically we take neither a Thanksgiving Break nor Spring Break. Traditionally we have a large Christmas Celebration here at Morningside and students are invited to stay. Beautiful condos and RV Park rentals will be available on a nightly rental basis for families wishing to visit their student and to spend Christmas at Morningside with their son or daughter.

Personal Vehicle

It is not mandatory for a student to have a personal vehicle on campus. If you do, we recommend that the brakes, battery, tires and other basic parts be checked out prior to your arrival so that your care will operate correctly for the duration of the program. Master’s Media is not responsible for repairs to your vehicle or providing transportation.

Passport & Identification

Every student will need to carry acceptable form of identification from state in which the student resides, such as a State ID Card or Driver’s License. If a foreign missions trip comes available, the student must have a passport that will be valid for the entire year at Master’s Media.

Tuition

Auto Insurance

Liability insurance is required for every vehicle in the state of Missouri, so you must have proof at all times. By law, each vehicle must maintain at least the minimum amount of personal injury and property damage.

Health Insurance

Every student is required to be fully covered by health insurance for the duration of his or her attendance at Master’s Media. The ministry is not liable to cover any medical expenses.

All tuition is required to be paid on the first day of Master’s Media, unless an alternate payment plan has been discussed with Master’s Media staff. The estimated cost for 1st year students is $5,000. Tuition covers classroom fees and hands-on training, housing, meals, and some food. Every student is required to pay the registration fee, which is also non-refundable.
