Having these guide questions in mind, consult your Resource Teacher on the possible assistance or participation that you can do to help her/ him in doing the classroom routines. Complete the matrix for the routines that you can employ before, during and after classes in the classroom/ remote learning to ensure order and discipline in your classes. List down the problems which you have encountered while implementing these routines.
Here are some of the problems that I have encountered while implementing these routines.
1. Some students are not taking part in class discussions, notably the recitation.
2. Some kids are struggling to understand/follow the directions.
3. Difficulty in balancing time because some pupils are struggling with the activity.
After doing your classroom routines and formulating your procedures, state what you noticed by answering the following questions:
1. How did you feel after employing your classroom routines and establishing your procedures in the classroom/ remote learning?
I am glad that, despite challenges and problems faced during the teaching and learning process, I am still able to present and implement my classroom routines and procedures after implementing them in the classroom/remote learning. It makes me happy since I've accomplished something very important for my personal development as a future teacher. Finally, I am relieved that the lesson and procedures were accomplished in an efficient and productive manner.
2. How did your students respond to your classroom routines and procedures?
My students respond to my classroom routines and procedures by repeating what I say and focusing on the many activities that I have planned for them. The majority of them are actively engaged in class discussions, particularly the recitation activity, which I believe is a beneficial feature of effective classroom routines and processes. Students agree on the value of having certain classroom routines and processes, and I can see their enthusiasm to follow and practice them in class, even if some do not. Prior to that, however, the majority of students expressed a strong desire for a mechanism for clarifying queries about existing routines and procedures.
3. What was the feedback of your Resource Teacher on your classroom routines and procedures?
According to my Resource Teacher, I need to do a better job of providing positive comments to students who are engaged in class, such as applauding them and stating, "Good job, very good," to encourage and enhance their confidence. She also noted that it is vital for the activities to be fascinating and engaging for the learners, as seen by some of my classroom routines and processes. Finally, she noted that in order for students to comprehend and be interested in the procedures and routines, they must be related to the subject matter that you are teaching.
4. Was there a change in the classroom environment/ teaching-learning process after you have implemented your classroom routines and procedures?
There is a shift in the classroom, based on my observations. After I established my classroom routines and processes, the learners are actively engaged in the class, and even students who do not normally participate are attempting to engage and participate during the teaching and learning process. The class maintains a steady flow of conversation, and unnecessary misbehavior has also been reduced.
1. What factors/conditions prompted you to establish those classroom routines and procedures?
The students' disobedience in class, their interest in the class discussion, and even the classroom's orderliness inspired me to implement those classroom rules and procedures. It motivates me to maintain my classroom distraction-free so that I can have a smooth flow of talks and the students can focus on their work.
2. Was there a marked improvement in classroom management after employing your classroom routines?
I believe there has been an improvement after introducing my classroom routines. Changes in student participation indicate a considerable improvement in classroom management. They are now more interested, about taking part in the oral recitation activity. I noticed a difference in students who normally behave badly in class because they are seeking to participate in engaging and enjoyable activities.
3. Did the teaching learning process improve? Justify your answer.
According to my observations, the teaching and learning processes improve because students already know what they will do when class begins. These routines considerably facilitated the smooth flow of conversations while also effectively engaging students in the teaching and learning process. It directs their attention on the lecture and the performance. It also allows the teacher to give the lesson without interruptions, and it even minimizes student misconduct, which impedes the learning process.
What insights have you gained while doing thus learning episode?
Based on my learning experiences, I've discovered that establishing classroom routines and procedures is critical to the teaching and learning process since it allows the teacher to create a distraction-free learning environment and ensure that conversations run smoothly. It is critical for students to recognize their responsibilities as students and to be taught self-discipline. As a potential teacher, I must develop and implement specific classroom procedures in order to provide a conducive learning environment for my students. I need to keep a close eye on my students' behavior so that at the end of the day, I may correct those who did not do it appropriately. Furthermore, when presenting these routines and procedures to class, I must ensure that they are understood and apparent to them so that I can demonstrate how to carry them out. Having a group conversation with my kids can help them build successful routines because they believe their opinions matter in class.
