Claims Conference Update

Dear Child Survivors, We have been in constant contact with Claims Conference N.Y. and Jewish Care to ensure child survivors have the latest information.

We are pleased to advise that the CSH compensation claim forms will be available after 1 February 2015 at www.claimscon.org for the one off compensation payment to all eligible CSH. This payment is NOT meanstested and is available regardless of any pension received or previous claim. The Application process will be easier for child survivors previously registered and receiving some form of pension or compensation.

For child survivors who have never made a claim for a pension or compensation through the Claims Conference or Jewish Care, there will be a need to be assessed for eligibility through Jewish Care.

We have arranged a special meeting for CSH at the Jewish Holocaust Centre on Sunday 8 February at 2.00 pm. There will be a Jewish Care representative guest speaker attending to advise on the application process and to answer your questions.

The Child Survivor Compensation Claim application form will be available for your collection on the day. Further information from Jewish Care is provided below. Please call Jewish Care after 1 February, 2015 on 8517 5999 if you are unable to attend the meeting or require immediate assistance. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 8 February at 2.00 pm. Jewish Care Advice for CSH Compensation Claim

The following information has been supplied by Jewish Care:

JCV: Jewish Care Victoria.

Claims Conference: New York based Organization representing Holocaust survivors.

Short Form: The form for eligible CSH who are registered with Claims Conference AND in receipt of A2/SL

Full Form: The form for eligible CSH who have never registered with Claims Conference OR never received A2/ SL

A2/SL: Article 2 or Slave Labor compensation.

All eligible A2/SL recipients will be sent short application forms by Claims Conference directly as their claims have been approved in advance. Follow the instructions provided or contact JCV for assistance. A2/SL recipients who have not received the short form application – contact JCV to advise the forms were not received. JCV will then investigate and arrange for the forms to be sent again.

CSH who do not receive A2/SL compensation (who have never applied or are waiting for a claim to be finalized) can download the form from www.claimscon.org after 1 February 2015, follow the instructions or contact JCV who will determine your eligibility for the A2/CSH compensation (if never applied for) in most cases the full application form will need to be completed.
