Make plans to join Jewish Long Beach Women’s Philanthropy on Thursday, May 18 as women from throughout our community come together to celebrate friendship, togetherness, and our ability to endure. The 2023 Arlene Solomon Visions event will be held in the Lipeles Auditorium at the Alpert Jewish Community Center on the Weinberg Jewish Long Beach Campus, beginning at 5:30pm with check in and dinner at 6:00pm.

This year’s event will feature a delicious kosher dinner, special treats, and a compelling speaker. A resident of northern California, Dashka Slater was raised in a Jewish family and is the award-winning author of The 57 Bus, as well as several other books for kids and teens. She will join us to offer her perspectives on life and why and how we find ways to fit in.

Visions Co-Chairs, Danielle Van Divort and Ami Guy, are looking forward to bringing back this much-anticipated event after a three-year hiatus. “It will be wonderful to gather again, to reaffirm our commitment to the causes we care about as women,” notes Danielle.

“Please plan to join us as we reconnect with old friends, meet new faces, and celebrate the power and joy of being together,” said Ami.

In recent years, Visions honored one woman from each of our local synagogues and community organizations. Having emerged from the uncertainty and restrictions of the pandemic, it is appropriate that this year we will celebrate ALL women in our community and acknowledge our resilience, strength, perseverance, and collective commitment to improving the world.

Couvert tickets for Visions will be $65 per person. Guests will have an opportunity to make their pledge to the 2023 Jewish Long Beach Annual Campaign. Stay tuned for additional details and electronic invitations.
