YHT Special M’Dor L’Dor Program
T
he fifth grade of Yeshiva Har Torah had an amazing opportunity to do the mitzvah of hachnasat orchim as they welcomed their grandparents for a special learning program. The children spent time studying source sheets with their grandparents in preparation for shiurim given by the rebbeim and morot on inyanei
Purim. The students and their grandparents learned about the four mitzvot of Purim and how each mitzvah of the day aims to create an atmosphere of togetherness on Purim. What an amazing way to get started in the month of Adar by spreading the joy of learning Torah and strengthening the bonds between generations.
Purim Fun at Central
T
he month of Adar began with a bang as Central welcomed Yachad students from Ivdu for its annual Rosh Chodesh Adar Chagigah/Carnival. Central students lined up at the door to cheer on the Yachad participants, who then had the opportunity to take part in various carnival booths, including Write Your Own Candy-O-Gram, Make Your Own Crown, and Find the Missing Jewel. Junior Danielle Ganchrow said, “The carnival was a great opportuni-
ty for everyone to come together and feel included,” and junior Leora Itzkowitz added that “it was also so much fun!” Ms. Rebecca Konigsberg, Assistant Director of Student Activities, described it as a “magical morning of chessed, fun, and ruach,” though she added, “it is really difficult to pick out the best costume!” As wonderful as it was, the chagigah was only the kick-off; the rest of Adar promises to be packed with more Purim ruach!
