Don’t Beat Yourself Up!

It’s true that vegetables can be made to taste great.

No one’s denying that.

Still, an order of French fries, pizza, or fried anything - you’ve got to admit -are alluring!

Of course, not after you are done eating them? Then Alka Seltzer or Tums sounds a lot more tempting!

But good old-fashioned junk food, fast food, or less healthy food seems to have a way of beckoning most of us.

Oily Dunkin Donuts?

Can’t live with them, can’t live without them!

Krispy Kreme? Seriously lethal!

Hot dogs?

Can anyone resist them, especially, if they walk by you at a buffet camouflaged, innocently as a mini frank in a blanket?!

How about the kid’s menu?

Isn’t it always more inviting even than a filet mignon?

The foods that call to us are seriously the ones we should not be calling back! Yet they always find us somehow.

I’m not even talking about the times we cave in to ‘closet eating’ or become undisciplined in our meal choices. I’m talking about those

Or what about when cleaning out the fridge? You can’t waste G-d’s food, after all!

And how about those times your mate wants some of something, but wants to split “it” with someone ?! How can you ruin the fun for someone you love!

So even when you are trying to eat only healthy food, isn’t it true that having junk food exist – anywhere in the universe – definitely presents a problem?

All bets go out the window when these foods are thrust our way!!!!

So - Is there some remedy?

No- if there were, someone would have come up with it by now.

Some people realize there’s no winning and just embrace these foods when they happen to come tiptoeing their way.

Others keep on fighting it with tooth and nail!

So afterwards, don’t get stuck in some guilt or frustration.

I say -just keep up the good fight!!! Try again next time! But in the interim, don’t make the fight against yourself by beating yourself up!!!!!
