Dear Federation Family: I am privileged and proud to say that the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County is about to embark on a new era of professional leadership. Matthew C. Levin will become the Chief Executive Officer on August 1. Please join me in welcoming him as we begin working together to build a strong future for our Federation. This great news comes as we culminate another exciting campaign season. From the Pechter Family naming of our Safety Net Services Giving Center, to Anne and Norman Jacobson’s naming of our Foundation, to the announcement that Harvey and Phyllis Sandler have named our Major Gifts Event, and much more, our Federation is blessed with donors who continue to give their very best. The word that defines this year for me is unity. Not only did everyone pull together to make great things happen for beneficiaries locally and around the world, but our Federation reached out to all segments of our community like never before. We added many exciting creative programs for the community-at-large, our Women’s Department and our up-and-coming young leaders and we were able to attract many new faces to our Federation. Our Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) also made a significant impact this year through its efforts to maintain funding from Florida legislators for services provided to seniors and persons with disabilities residing in our community, and to tighten economic sanctions against those doing business with Iran. The JCRC also made its mark with pro-Israel activities, including the annual Israel Under the Stars celebration, which brought thousands of local residents of all ages to celebrate Israel Independence Day. What a wonderful season to look back on as you enjoy the summer! Until next season,
