Easter Celebration at Charis Ace Elderly Centre Close to 70 neighbourhood residents attended the special Easter celebration on 26 March 2016 that was jointly organised by Living Stones Mandarin Service and Charis ACE Elderly Centre, at Charis ACE’s Activity Centre in Geylang East.
W
e began the program by singing all-time favourite oldies, followed by friendly competitions that revolved around musical instruments, songs and Easter egg decoration. The residents and members mingled to form different teams and all had good fun together. After the games, while totalling the scores, the emcees took the opportunity to share the meaning of Easter with the elderly residents. Since many of the residents were pre-believers, it could be the first time they had heard a Good Friday and Easter message. As part of a surprise twist at the end of the programme, everyone present was given gifts, not just the winners of the games! We ended the celebration joyously by inviting all to sing along with actions to the worship song entitled 《看见神的爱》 (Kànjiàn shén de ài Seeing God’s love). This outreach was very meaningful as the members had the opportunity to connect with the seniors while the Good News was shared in a non-pressurising, friendly and joyful atmosphere.
