The case for a website redesign

Page 1

When it comes to military themed websites, there’s a lot in common : *White space *Images *Twitter feed *Drop downs

In some cases, it’s Blue Space.

Some use background images. Some do not.

Navy Medicine East uses text….and it’s on SharePoint

While Navy Medicine West is NOT on SharePoint.

While DoD places its dominant photo to the right...

The Army places its dominant photo to the left‌.

Navy Personnel Command squeezes in a much info as possible...

While the Navy Office Community Outreach ops for text AND photos.

So where is NavMedLogCom in this hodge podge of website design ideas?

NMLC hits all those elements. Short white space to the left. Long blue space to the right and long, long white space to the bottom of the page. Short text introduction. Rotating images. Tool bar-banners on both sides of the page. This page is not on SharePoint.

Recommendation: 1. Determine what changes to the website are necessary 2. Model best ideas from most common themes (examples presented in previously pages) 3. Change banner photographs to better align with mission 4. Create a ‘Search Box’ feature 5. Test the product. Survey customers to determine if they appreciate the modifications
