Denver Jubilees Family and friends gathered at the St. John Francis Regis Chapel at Regis University on Oct. 30, 2011, to celebrate the many years of service of three Denver-area Jesuits who have reached important milestones in their ministry to the people of God. Fr. James B. Guyer celebrated 50 years in the Society of Jesus; he is a historian and long-time faculty member at Regis University. Fr. John J. Waters has been a Jesuit for 60 years, with most of his service in pastoral work. Waters worked in Honduras and Belize, was pastor in Denver and Pueblo, and served on the provincial’s staff. Fr. Robert R. DeRouen reached the remarkable milestone of 70 years in the Society. He taught until the 1980s in all of the province high schools, and then focused on retreats and spiritual ministries.
