Victor E. Barlow II ’88 Jeffrey S. Seabrook ’69

James M. Burns ’75

Jeffrey Seabrook, of Fort Davis, TX, passed away Nov. 10, 2010. Jeffrey is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diane Seabrook; daughter, Becky Seabrook; brother, John Seabrook ’61; and sister Sue Ellen Seabrook. He was a graduate of the University of Texas and his master’s degree in entomology from the University of Hawaii helped him start his own pest management business. Jeffrey loved the outdoors and was passionate about history. He especially enjoyed visiting Civil War historic sites.

Born in Philadelphia, Jamie Burns passed away April 12, 2011 in Dallas, TX. His survivors include his children, Maggie and Patrick Burns; and wife, Carla Burns. Jamie was an ESL teacher at Brookhaven College, where he was loved by all of his students. A life-long cyclist, he raced with teams in the Dallas area and went on several long-distance bike trips across the U.S. and abroad.

Victor Barlow, was born in Fort Worth, TX, to Joan and Tom Barlow ’60. He passed away Apr. 27, 2011 in Austin, TX. He is survived by Bettina Babbitt and sister, Melissa Motta. Victor was loved by all his family and friends. He was especially fond of his nieces and nephews, James and Miranda.

Lee A. Falvo ’95

P. Anthony Schurba ’72 Anthony Schurba lost his battle with cancer on Nov. 5, 2010. Raised near White Rock Lake, he was a well-known local artist. His work was shown at numerous places including the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, the McKinney Avenue Contemporary, and the Arlington Museum of Art. Before his death, a Dallas art gallery held an exhibit featuring all the remaining pieces of his art collection. His wish to have the public enjoy his work while still alive was realized.

Lee Falvo, the eldest child of James and Mary Jo Falvo, passed away Dec. 2, 2010. After graduating from Jesuit, Lee attended Michael J. Werr ’76 the University of Oklahoma and pledged Phi Gamma Delta. He transferred to University Born in 1958, Michael Werr passed away on of Texas at Arlington where he majored in Jan. 20, 2011. After graduating from Jesuit College Preparatory he attended Austin College business administration. A licensed Texas real estate salesperson he worked for DFW in Sherman, TX. Advisors in Dallas. He loved helping and caring for animals especially his dog, Susie Q, and cat, Bootsie.

Raymond J. Steele ’78

Michael A. Barragan ’75 Michael Barragan died Apr. 24, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Beverly and daughter, Kathryn. After graduating from Jesuit, he attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned his B.S. in political science and began his affection for all things Longhorn. He remained in Austin at UT and received his JD in 1982. He joined the law firm of Gardere & Wynne and worked there for almost twenty years. In 2003, he opened his own practice, specializing in probate litigation.

Ray Steele was born in Detroit, MI, and died Dec. 2, 2010 in McKinney, TX. He attended school at St. Paul the Apostle Elementary and Jesuit College Preparatory before going on to earn his BSBA in Management Information Systems at the University of Texas at Dallas. He was worked at Torchmark Insurance as a computer programmer, and enjoyed golf in his spare time. Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Kusiak Steele.

Constantino A. Fontes ’10 Constantino Fontes died March 21, 2011 in Tuscaloosa, AL. He is the son of Michael and Madeleine Fontes and the brother of Gabriella and Pia Fontes. A member of the Jesuit swim team and an honors graduate of Jesuit in 2010, he was a freshman in the Honors College at the University of Alabama. He never spoke an ill word nor failed to share a smile with others and his arms were always open to embrace.

The Jesuit community remembers and prays for those among us who have passed away and offers condolences to their families.
