Description

The Cutaway City project aims to delve into the fascinating concept of an in-between zone within urban environments, where individuals can simultaneously exist as citizens and spectators. This project seeks to explore the dynamic relationship between the City and the Event, two distinct yet interconnected elements that shape the urban fabric.

The primary objective of this project is to investigate the ambiguous jurisdiction that lies between the City and the Event. This intermediate space, often overlooked and undefined, holds immense potential for understanding the complex interplay between urban life and recreational experiences. By examining this realm, we hope to shed light on how cities provide the necessities for survival while also serving as platforms for pleasurable events.

Ultimately, the Cutaway City project aims to deepen our understanding of the urban landscape and its intricate connections with human experiences. By examining the blurred boundaries between citizenship and spectatorship, we hope to contribute to the development of more inclusive, vibrant, and culturally rich urban environments.
