History of Cubism The art style known as Cubism is art that incorporates many geometric elements in order to create images inside images. There were two main people that were behind the art of cubism and those people were Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. In 1907, Pablo Picasso had just finished the first iteration of Cubism and that painting was called Les Demoiselles d’Avignon. Georges Braque was hesitant to be a part of Pablo Picasso’s creation, but he was way too intrigued in what he had created. Soon after they began to collaborate and test their limits as to what they could create to improve upon this art style. Their collaboration gave new meaning to the art of cubism and caused other artists to join in on the action (History).
