IT’S TEMPTING
to use superlatives when describing Boca Raton, and doing so wouldn’t require exaggeration. Boca possesses unparalleled parks, beaches, schools, restaurants, neighborhoods, shopping … and the list goes on. A can-do business climate contributes to the superior quality of life, giving Boca Raton its reputation as a great place to live, work, learn and play. None of this happened by accident, though. Boca Raton city officials and business and community leaders have worked hard to make the city the best it could possibly be through careful planning, design and zoning guidelines, farsightedness and efficient management. Its resulting aura of affluence and order differentiates it from other South Florida communities—and projects a romantic tropical aesthetic. Residents have never been shy about pitching in with effort, time and money—and holding their leaders accountable. But the standards of excellence were set long ago.
