ll Christians must try in their way
to answer the question: what is the Lord calling us to pay attention to today? The Society of Jesus answered this question by announcing the Universal Apostolic Preferences (UAPs). The Society discerned the Lord’s call to work towards four UAPs, namely, showing others the way to God through the spiritual exercises, walking with those who are excluded from society, journeying with the youth, and caring for our common home. In this article, I want to briefly elaborate on the fourth one – care for our common home – a major theme for Pope Francis, and its relation to tolerance.
