We are a family-owned business that thrives by treating people well and doing what’s right for our clients. We start every day knowing we have to earn your loyalty.

Ellen and David LevyWith many men and women updating their wardrobes with Spring in bloom, let’s review the importance of the fabric in your clothing or sportswear choices.
Suits
There are a few important terms that will help you choose the correct fabrics for your suits and sport coats. You may have heard about the term Super 100’s, Super 150’s, and others used to describe the quality of wool in suits and sport coats / blazers. This number depends on the thickness of the specific sheep fibers and is based on the diameter of the wool measured in microns. The higher the Super number the more wool is needed to weave the fabric and the reflection is more luxurious. It’s a bit counter-intuitive as the lower the micron number, the higher the Super number. Generally, a Super 100’s fabric garment is more durable and a Super 150’s and up fabric garment should be rotated in your closet. However, always rely on us to describe the fabrics for you as length, strength, color, and crimp are also important to the fabric quality. Our Super 100’s fabric garments made with Italian mill fibers will have a 2x2 fiber weave crimp that is more luxurious and higher quality than others.
Sport Coats
A super 120’s or 130’s wool sport coat is usually able to be worn year-round. To achieve more seasonal and lighter fabrics with wonderful colorations, better brands use fibers with a blend of wool, silk, and linen. The casual partially-lined Spring and Summer coats have various linen blends, including wool, silk and linen, or are 100% linen.
Pants & Bottoms
There are numerous new blends in pants and walk shorts, especially those that are casual, starting with cottons and cotton blends. New technology has spurred many performance blends – they are often easy-care.
Shirts
There are also differing qualities of cotton shirt fabrics with the best made of long staple fibers. Most of Levy’s dress shirts from brands like Eton have a process that allows for shirts to retain shape when worn without chemicals being sprayed in the fabrics. Our Italian brands have perfected washing techniques to lighten colors of sport shirts and knit shirts for casual wardrobes, while providing more comfort. Sport shirts are made of cottons or blends that reflect the seasonal colors, and new performance fabrics in shirts and knits provide additional choices in comfort and wicking perspiration properties.
