#ELIMIN8

In 34 countries around the world, maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT) can quickly turn the joy of childbirth into tragedy. MNT kills one baby every nine minutes. Its effects are excruciating — tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch. There is little hope of survival. And tetanus kills mothers too.

Our goal is to raise $1.80 WILL SAVE A MOTHER AND HER FUTURE BABIES US$110million to eliminate MNT by 2015

Spotlight: 3 Club Reports Claremont December, as always: a busy month for Claremont Key Club! We had an event every week! On December 8th, our members went to a local care home for children, Jeneece Place, and baked wintery treats. We had help from the residents, and the staff were very pleased with the results. Following this, on the week of the 10th, we gift wrapped lockers and raised nearly $150 for Project Educate! Subsequently, on the days leading up to Christmas, we gift wrapped presents to raise money for the Mustard Seed food bank. To help the Mustard Seed even more, we visited them on December 28th, to help clear up from the holiday chaos. Phhhhheeeeewwww, that's a lot! From every one in Claremont Key Club, Happy New Year!

Prince of Wales Happy New Year! The last month of 2012 was a busy one for Prince of Wales Key Club. During the last two weeks before winter break, we wrapped lockers with Christmas decorations and collected donations for the EDUCATE Project. In the last week, we opened the "Key Kiosk" a small booth in the cafeteria where we sold baked goods, EDUCATE tshirts and wristbands, and ELIMINATE Showcase tickets, as well as handed out posters and brochures about Key Club. This month, we aim to begin the 2013-2014 executive application process and the 2013 DCON registration.

ATTN KIWANIS CLUBS : WANT TO CHARTER BRITANNIA KEY CLUB? EMAIL ME!!

Because December was the month of holiday celebration, Britannia Key Club, and also for the very first time in our school, decided to spread the holiday spirit by wrapping student lockers and the teachers' doors for $2-$5 each. We transformed an ordinary grey lockers into colorful and fun decorations for the school. We continued to sell poinsettias and raised over $200. And because we were so proud for raising over $1,500 from the YUDABANDS project, we had a little party during our last meeting of 2012 and gave our members free jello and surprises! We would also like to recognize our proud member, Leon Lai, for selling over 80 YUDABANDS (that's more than $400!). We were also very honored to have received the "Best New Club Award" and we were very proud of ourselves. We hoped to continue doing our best and we look forward to what's ahead of us in the year of 2013!
