Bryce Canyon Located in Utah, Bryce Canyon was named after Ebenezer Bryce.Bryce Canyon isn’t that big,it’s only 56 sq. miles and is about 9000 ft above sea level. One thing about Bryce Canyon is the legend about the rock people. The rock people were thought to be animals but looked a lot like humans before even the indians were around.

One day the rock people angered the god Coyote. Coyote was so angry he

turned them into stone which is still there today. Another thing about the rocks is the colors of the rocks. They have the various shades of orangish, pinkish, and whitish colors. The stones in Bryce Canyon are not very strong at all,and that’s because the rocks are made of limestone and layers of sandstone.

There some parks that are actually a lot closer than you think. Zion,Cedar Breaks, and one of the seven wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon are actually so close they connected them with tunnels. Some cool rock forms are these holes in rocks called windows. About 60 million years ago, rocks came up from the ground. And raised thousands of feet from the water. Over time the rocks expanded by water freezing at night and the ice

expanded the rocks. One thing about Bryce Canyon, is you get great views of the night sky because of not many trees are up top. Some of the animals there are the mountain lion, deer, porcupines, chipmunks, and more alike. Also there were prairie dogs which just came back. Another thing in the park, the park such as the popular Aspen, also the lower Pinon Pine , and Utah Juniper trees that the steller's jay ,blue grouse, and the ravens like.

Les Trois Tetons

Jackson Hole National Monument

In the winter of 1807-1808 an Englishman named John Colter came to the Tetons to trap animals. Upon seeing the mountains the Canadian-French trappers named three of them Les Trois Tetons. Once Jackson town was founded, more people came to the park and began to form farms and businesses for personal gain. To save the beautiful land, it was issued as a national park in the early 1900s. The towering peaks of the Grand Teton range extend for almost 40 miles with the majority of the mountains climbing higher than 12,000 feet high. The Grand Teton mountain itself is 13,770 feet, the tallest in the park.

The dazzling Jackson Hole National Monument, is a fertile valley and wildlife reserve with a wide range of animals and the dazzling Snake River that winds through it. The Tetons are filled with animals, from raptor birds like the golden eagle and the osprey, to their prey, the yellow-bellied marmot, and the cutthroat trout. The park also provides homes The park has over 1,000 species of vascular plants and Jackson Hole’s rocky soil is a perfect home for big leaf sagebrush. The Grand Tetons tend to have cold, long winters and pleasant summers. The coldest temperature ever recorded in the park was -63 degrees fahrenheit! Grand Teton has many interesting activities in the park. Wildlife viewing is a popular choice.

Visitors may try to spot coyotes, beavers, bison, moose, and even the occasional black bear. Hiking is another favored activity, as many miles of hiking trails wind through the park. Skiers swarm park in the winter to cross country ski across the barren mountain peaks or dare to downhill ski on the icy mountain slopes. Mankind has had a large impact on the park. They have caused fires, floods, and even earthquakes. One of the most common problems humans have brought into the park are non-native plants and animals, that are threatening to take over the park. Though the park has changed in many ways people continue to make this place the beautiful Grand Tetons it has always been.
