Harris Art Studio to relocate in August
Owned and operated by Hollywood Hills resident and artist Kyle Harris, Harris Art Studio has offered art instruction in drawing, painting, sculpture, crafts, photography and more to children and adults for the last eighteen months. After occupying a double storefront in the Target Plaza on Hollywood Boulevard, and securing 2012 Best of Hollywood winner in the category for Best Creative Instruction, the studio is moving to a new location in the former Hollywood Mall in August. The mission of Harris Art Studio is to provide a fun, safe, comfortable environment where people with an interest, a passion, an appreciation or just a curiosity for art can explore creativity and express creatively. A transplant from New England, Harris studied visual arts and photography in high school and college and held a successful career Kyle Harris in television production and community activism in the Greater Boston Area for over 20 years. Her family moved to South Florida in 2003 where she made her way back into the world of art as head of the art department at The Arts Academy of Hollywood. While overseeing a small staff, she taught children’s art classes until
the Academy closed in 2009. After a night out at a painting party in 2010, Harris discovered she “still had it” and it was time to do something with that college education. “It all happened so quickly and it felt right!” Harris says. An opportunity to occupy what would have been an empty storefront in a prime location, led her to open the studio in the Target Plaza. “The landlord didn’t want an empty space and I wanted to give this new career a try.
