Tuesday, February 16, noon to 1 pm Bank of the Arts, 317 Middle Street $15 general admission Dynamic husband-wife duo team Amadi and Debby Azikiwe perform a noontime concert of imaginative, virtuosic music for violin/viola and piano. Highlights include works by JS Bach, Dvorak, Paganini, and American originals David Baker, Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, and James Cohn.

Friday, February 19, 6 to 7 pm Bank of the Arts, 317 Middle Street $20 general admission Enjoy an evening of rousing music by American innovators Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, and Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson alongside Mozart’s stunning Clarinet Quartet in B-flat Major. Members of the Calyx Piano Trio, violist Amadi Azikiwe, and multitalented CCMF newcomer clarinetist/composer Derek Bermel are featured artists. Hosted by Finley Woolston of Public Radio East. Saturday, February 20 at 7 pm 6:30 pm pre-concert discussion with CCMF Composer-in-Residence Derek Bermel Bank of the Arts, 317 Middle Street $30 general admisssion The Calyx Piano Trio returns to New Bern to conclude season thirteen with a program of heart-rending music reflecting on loss and joy. Works include Dvorak’s Piano Trio in F minor, Op. 65; Deep River (a spiritual popularized by Dvorak’s American associate Henry Burleigh); and the North Carolina premiere of Death with Interruptions by celebrated American composer Derek Bermel. Reception to follow.
