Profile and Brief Description
Romblon State University is a prominent institution for higher education in the Southern Tagalog Region in the Philippines. It was established in 1915 as a farm school It is recognized as one of the oldest schools in the MIMAROPA Region comprising of the islands of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan. From 1929, it progressed in three stages from being a municipal to national high school, and to becoming Romblon National Agricultural College. Then, in 1984, it became Romblon State College (RAC) The unwavering dedication of leaders came to fruition in October 14, 2009, when by virtue of Republic Act 9721, RAC was converted to Romblon State University (RSU). Since then, RSU has been committed to its mission and vision of pursuing quality and excellence in education. The university, with ten (10) campuses and over 17,000 students has produced topnotchers in the national board licensure examinations for Agriculture, Criminal Justice, Education, and Engineering. Its commitment to serving with honor and excellence is evidenced by an ISO Certification on January 4, 2020, and being recognized by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) with the highest number of accredited programs in 2021. Its unstoppable breakthroughs in research continuously hone its faculty members and students in creating a culture for research and extension, whose works received the Best Presenter Awards locally and internationally, and are published in recognized local and international research journals as well.
