AUA 2022 New Orleans

The 2022 American Urologic Association annual meeting was held in New Orleans, Louisiana, from May 13-16, 2022. Our Department of Urology faculty, residents, and students were well represented. This comprised 24 presentations, including several plenary sessions, faculty moderator duties, and instructional courses. In the national AUA residents bowl, we were pleased that our Mid-Atlantic AUA team featuring our current Chief Resident, Dr. Andrew Salib, took first place.

The Mid-Atlantic residents bowl team (nicknamed “The Rod Squad”) during the competition featuring our PGY-5 now Chief Resident, Dr. Andrew Salib.

Drs. Alex Nourian, Jefferson Urology Resident Andrew Salib (now Chief Resident), Harmanmeet Singh, Jacob Thatcher, and Jacques Farhi were the winning Resident Team during the 2022 National Residents Bowl. Dr. Tracey Krupski, President of the Mid-Atlantic AUA, is seen celebrating our sections big win. The group rose to the top out of eight AUA sections in North America.

Jefferson Urology and CJUI Reception

During the plenary session on Saturday, May 14, Dr. Gomella moderated a session on multidisciplinary care in urologic oncology. The session highlighted our 25-year experience with the SKCC GU Oncology Multidisciplinary Clinic Approach.

Dr. Costas Lallas moderated a plenary session at the AUA titled, “Incidentally Discovered 3 cm Solid Renal Mass.” Dr. Paul Chung was also a plenary panelist for a session titled, “Radical Prostatectomy with Both Severe Incontinence and Severe Erectile Dysfunction.”
