To attend Kindergarten, a student must be 5 years old on or before September 30, 2024, as verified by an uploaded copy of the birth certificate.

All students applying for Kindergarten through 1st grade must submit a copy of the birth certificate.

• Identification-Parent/Guardian Driver’s license, State-Issued ID, or Passport • Proof of residency in Jefferson Parishcurrent utility bill, car registration, or other official documentation

APPLYING FOR 2ND GRADE - 11TH GRADE t

All students applying for 2nd grade through 11th grade must submit a copy of the birth certificate for age verification.

A copy of the most recent final report card must be uploaded.

Applications only available on specialtyselection.jpschools.org Applications must be completed, including all required documents submitted for review by the deadline of February 29, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. to be considered for admission.

• The student’s end of year report card for the last academic year (2022-2023) must demonstrate a final GPA of 2.0 in core subjects: English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. t

TRANSPORTATION & ATTENDANCE ZONES • Qualifying applicants will only be approved for the Magnet Program designated for the side of the river on which the applicant resides. • JP Schools will provide transportation for Magnet School students to the Magnet School in their attendance zone. • Transportation hubs, instead of the traditional bus stops, have been created to maximize the efficiency of the route, student time on bus, and the school’s bell times due to the Magnet attendance district being larger than a traditional school attendance zone.
