STEM SPECIALTY CAMP

CODING & GAME DESIGN

Young learners dive into programming with Scratch, a visual programming environment with drag-and-drop creative learning environment developed by MIT Media Lab. Campers use code blocks and library of characters enabling them to focus on the logic & enjoy the learning experience! Working on different levels, young coders think creatively, reason systematically and problemsolve to create their own interactive stories, games & animations. While developing games and apps, participants will also learn programming concepts like variables, conditional statements, animation, loops, event handling, and operators. This program meets Monday through Friday.

Heavy Equipment Engineering

Future engineers will explore the fundamental principles and parts that make some of the world’s heaviest machinery work. Students will be building a working model of big machines that can pull, press, and lift heavy loads. By the end of the camp, students will have a better understanding of how these machines generate the forces and pressures they need to get the job done. Campers also get to take home their working models.
