Jeremiah F. Donier 2418 West Francis Avenue Spokane, WA 99205 Dear Jeremiah: Congratulations! This letter is your proof that you have met the training and testing requirements to qualify as a certified peer counselor for the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR). Our records show that you have: 1.
Completed DBHR's 40-hour certified peer counselor training. This training prepared you to provide peer support services in Washington's public mental health system.
2. Received a combined score of 8o% or more on the oral and written peer counselor exam. If you are hired by a community mental health agency to provide peer support, you may be asked to seek a counselor credential from the Department of Health. This is often a requirement of the agency's funding source.
The title of certified peer counselor means that you have successfully learned the training material. This is similar in some ways to earning a degree from a college or university. It does not mean that DBHR has made a decision about whether you are suitable for hire as a certified peer counselor. Mental health agencies hiring certified peer counselors will use their own methods to make sure they choose people who best meet their needs. I may be reached at 360-725-1883 if you have any questions. I wish you well with your future employment. Sincerely,
