IVY EILERMAN Angel Oak’s Local Point Person
In the male-dominated mortgage industry, where—according to statistics—women occupy only 32 percent of top positions, Ivy Eilerman said she knows how fortunate she is. Eilerman, who serves as part of the elite president’s club of the Atlanta-based Angel Oak Home Loans, runs the firm’s Pooler office, where she is the branch manager.

“Ivy is a top producer who is well known with a great reputation,” said LeighAnn Wheeler, Marketing Director for Angel Oak Home Loans. “She works with clients with ease and poise and is a great loan officer.”
Nurturer by Nature
Eilerman has built a great reputation inside and outside of the company, which she attributes to having an instinctual and deep-rooted care that comes from being next to the oldest and eldest daughter of six siblings, in which she was sister and caretaker and developed her “mothering skills,” she said. That nurture and sense of responsibility followed her into the workplace.
“My care and concern grew into 100-percent, word-of-mouth support for my business,” Eilerman said. “It’s very humbling so many trust me.”
Eilerman said she is trusted because she is honest with her customers and doesn’t tell them what they want to hear, but she tells them what they need to hear in order get a home loan approved.
“My approach is to be cautious because we don’t want to break people’s hearts. We like to seek and destroy any threats in the beginning.” The result is that almost all her customers’ loans are approved because she puts in the work in the beginning.
Winning Awards is a Team Effort
While Eilerman can point to 18 awards she has that she houses between her office and her Guyton home, she insists none of them are because of her extraordinary work. She credits her team for every one of her awards.
“I love what I do, but I have an amazing team that makes me look good. They sing my praises and I sing theirs.”
Eilerman said her positive outlook comes from her faith. Every morning, she and her husband, Ricky, a real estate agent, and their three children, Cody, 20; Caden, 10; and Grace, 9, start their day off with reading Bible verses. That start, she said, gives her fuel for the day.
Focus on Family and Friends
Eilerman spends her free time with her large family who lives close by. It’s not uncommon for 17 family members to go to a movie or spend time together on a beach.
But when it’s just Eilerman and her husband, the two often spend time with friends on the couple’s porch where Eilerman, an accomplished singer, can belt out songs from Martina McBride to Reba McIntire, Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston with ease. If she wasn’t in the mortgage business, Eilerman said she would be a professional singer.
Coming out of one the most profitable years in her career, (Eilerman personally closed $32 million in loans for 2020), Eilerman said she has no plans to slow down; in fact, she plans to open a second branch in Effingham County at the end of the year. Eilerman said she is the first to admit that she often spreads herself too thin. “I never turn off, I just change locations.” n

YOUR SMILE SAYS A LOT ABOUT YOU. SHOULDN’T IT SAY SOMETHING GREAT?
Your long-term oral health starts with regular dental checkups and teeth cleanings. These dental exams provide our dentists with the opportunity to not only remove any plaque and tartar buildup that at-home solutions cannot remove, but can also allow our team to spot any decay or disease.
The Importance of Regular Dental Cleanings
Good dental health is a combination of proper daily maintenance (brushing and flossing) along with regular visits for professional dental cleanings. Regular teeth cleanings and dental exams can not only help prevent long-term complications, but can also improve your smile and oral health.
What Happens When You Don’t Schedule a Professional Cleaning
The consequences of not scheduling regular teeth cleanings and dental exams are no smiling matter. There are multiple complications that can occur if you do not visit your dentist regularly. One complication to not maintaining proper oral hygiene and care is cavities. Cavities are painful places on your teeth where decay has eaten through the enamel and exposed a tooth’s root. Diseased, crooked or missing teeth or a misshapen jaw can also: • interfere with your speech • make chewing your food properly difficult and painful • lead to expensive corrective procedures
Another complication of poor oral health is gum disease, which can be mild in the initial stages, but lead to much more severe problems if untreated. Research has also linked periodontal disease to significant health problems as well. Gum disease or periodontal disease may cause • Loss of teeth • Infections • Respiratory issues • Diabetes complications • Strokes • Dementia • Heart disease. (It has been found that gum disease increases a person’s risk of heart disease by about 20%. Also studies show that 80% of people who suffered a heart attack also had gum disease.)
Professional dental cleanings and exams are critical to maintaining your smile. We offer multiple affordable dental cleaning options for patients with and without dental insurance, including our iHeart Dental Savings Club for patients who do not have coverage. Call our office in Rincon, GA at (912) 499-1133 or contact us online to schedule your next dental checkup and keep your smile bright and shiny for years to come.
