Dear Family and Friends, An exciting opportunity has been offered to me and I wanted to share it with you. I also wanted to let you know of an urgent challenge that I have. First, I am pleased to let you know that I have been accepted to the Berklee College of Music Five-Week Summer Performance Program in Boston, MA. The Five-Week Program is the largest, most comprehensive summer music program available. It is the premier summer music program for young musicians, and gives us the opportunity to experience the summer of a lifetime, at the world’s most prestigious institution for the study of contemporary music. My challenge is that I have only less than 30 days to raise $6,780 in order to attend this dynamic program. To that end, I need your help! As an aspiring musician and sophomore student at Oakland School for the Arts, it is my dream and goal to become the best musician I can be. By attending the Berklee FiveWeek Summer Music Program, it will help me become a better performer through increased musical and personal awareness, and provide me with the tools to improve my musical skills.
