Recap CULTURE FIX CLE

Healing Our Community through the Arts

An installation by Tel Aviv artists Dede Bandaid and Nitzan Mintz in collaboration with local photographer Daniel Levin. Presented by Cleveland Israel Arts Connection Summer 2022

Culture Fix CLE provides a visual narration of the harm to arts and culture that has been damaged by the pandemic; builds bridges between Israeli and American art; and connects with the community through the universal theme of tikkun olam, repairing the world. Significant leaders in Cleveland’s fine arts community and other arts disciplines were the subject of a photoshoot directed by Dede. Over the past summer, life-sized prints with Dede’s iconic images were installed at myriad venues around Greater Cleveland. • Some images may still be available for viewing • For more information, visit www.jewishcleveland.org/culturefixcle.

Dede Bandaid & Nitzan Mintz

Dede is an urban narrative artist. Nitzan Mintz is an artist and street poet. Based in Tel Aviv, Israel, they constantly seek new opportunities to create innovative artworks. Dede has become synonymous with Israeli street art, having used Tel Aviv as a canvas for more than two decades. Although the Culture Fix imagery is intended to be temporary, Dede & Nitzan left a more permanent reminder of their residency in Cleveland. They created a mural in Coventry Village in Cleveland Heights that was inspired by the neighborhood and the wildlife living nearby.
