Mick McDaniel enters his first year as NJCAA President, after serving as first vice president for nearly a decade. McDaniel also serves as the athletic director at Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, N.Y. McDaniel started his professional career as the coordinator of recreation and aquatics at TC3 and transitioned into the director of athletics position in 2000. He has coached the men’s soccer, and men’s and women’s golf teams, and currently coaches the women’s soccer team. He is the founder and director of the TC3 Sports Camps, which recently celebrated its 21st year of service to the community. McDaniel is currently the 2nd Vice President of NJCAA and is on the Board of Directors of the NJCAA Region III Committee. He is also on the NJCAA Competition Committee, serves as chairman for the men’s national golf, soccer, and ice hockey committees. McDaniel was the recipient of the 2006-07 Athletic Director of the Year for the NJCAA Region III , and in 2011 was named the National Association of Collegiate Director of Athletics (NACDA) Under Armour A.D. of the Year. He also has a number of Coach of the Year Awards for golf and soccer. McDaniel also serves as the head coach of the Panthers' golf team, which is the post he started with at the school back in 1994. McDaniel has led the Panthers men's team to two Region III titles, and two top-seven finishes at nationals. He also coached an individual national champion, a two-time AllAmerican, three MSAC individual champions, and many all-region and all-conference performers.

Chris Parker

Executive Director Chris Parker became just the fourth Executive Director in NJCAA history when the organization’s Executive Committee selected him for the position on July 17, 2017. He replaces Mary Ellen Leight who retired after 28 years of service in various capacities with the organization. Parker oversees all business and day-to-day operations of the second-largest intercollegiate athletic association in the country. The NJCAA is the only national governing body of intercollegiate athletics for two-year colleges and its current membership of 520 institutions is second only to the NCAA.

Parker has valuable experience in two-year collegiate athletics. In 2006, he was hired as the first-ever athletic director at Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville, Va. Under his leadership, Patrick Henry’s athletic program grew from its original three sports to 12 before his departure in 2015. Parker was named the Under Armour Southeast Athletic Director of the Year in 2010-11. In addition to his responsibilities at PHCC, Parker served as the assistant director and director of NJCAA Region X for seven years.

During his 10-year stint at Patrick Henry, Parker also served the positions of Assistant Dean for Academics and Dean of Academics before taking on the duties of Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Campus Life, and Athletics.

2nd Vice President for Men

Prior to accepting the NJCAA post, Parker served as Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marketing and Public Relations at Pfeiffer University. During his time at Pfeiffer, he led the college to significant growth in new incoming undergraduate students. After drawing the largest incoming class in nearly 30 years last year, the institution had an enrollment increase of nearly 50 percent compared to the previous year.

Mark Krug

Assistant Executive Director Mark Krug joined the NJCAA Staff in September of 2006. He was elevated to Director of Sports Information and Media Relations on June 1, 2008 and then Assistant Executive Director on August 1, 2010. Before coming to the NJCAA, Krug served as an Information Specialist at Arizona State University in the Parking and Transportation Department. While there he was responsible for all public/media relations aspects of the department as well as producing a monthly newsletter and designing and editing advertising for print publications. Krug began his education at Central Christian where he was a two-year letterman on the baseball team, serving as team captain in his sophomore season. He continued at Northern Arizona where he earned his degree in electronic media. He completed his education at Wyoming, earning his master’s degree in communications in 2004. While at Wyoming, he served as a graduate assistant in the athletic media relations office.

Ricky Webster

Associate Director of Media Relations Ricky Webster joined the NJCAA Staff in June 2017 and serves as the association director of media relations. Webster coordinates the day-to-day operations of the NJCAA media relations department, including press releases and news stories for the NJCAA website, social media, NJCAA stats system and stat-entry procedures, nomination and selection of processes for national awards procedures for national tournament seeding and weekly rankings. While new to the national office, Webster has ties to the NJCAA. He previously served four years at Marshalltown Community College, where he was hired as the first coordinator of sports information & compliance in the summer of 2013. That same year, Webster was appointed to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) publications & digital design committee. Prior to Marshalltown, Webster served two years at the College of Brockport, a NCAA D-III program in Western New York that featured 23 athletic teams and two years at Fredonia State University as an intern in the Blue Devil’s sports information department. Webster graduated from Fredonia in 2011 with a degree in sport management and a minor in athletic administration. He was also a member of the baseball team, the winningest team in program history.

Did You Know? The idea for the NJCAA was conceived in 1937 at Fresno, Calif., and in 1938, the constitution was accepted and the NJCAA became a functioning organization. The initial activity sponsored by the NJCAA was track and field. The NJCAA was fast gaining national recognition, and in 1949, the NJCAA reorganized by dividing the nation into 16 regions. Additionally, Hutchinson, Kan., became the site for the national office and the NJCAA Championship Basketball Tournament. The office remained in Hutchinson until 1985, when the NJCAA moved to Colorado Springs, Colo. Today, the NJCAA membership consists of over 500 institutions and 45,000 student-athletes.
