2004-05 7th Place NJCAA Led by Jay Kramer, the Cavaliers finished seventh in the NJCAA, the highest finish in team history. Kramer became the first player in JCCC golf history to garner NJCAA All-America accolades. Kramer registered a tie for seventh at the 2005 NJCAA National Golf Championship at Mariah Hills Golf Course in Dodge City, Kan. He fired rounds of 78, 74, 69 and 73 for a 294 total, just six strokes off the pace set by Ryan Zamarano of Paris. Kramer’s performance earned him second-team NJCAA All-American and all-tournament accolades. He is the first AllAmerican in team history, and second to earn all-tournament. Kramer set team records for lowest scoring total in a national tournament and best individual finish. His 294 total edged the record set by Tommy Clifford at the 2004 national tournament.

2005-06 13th Place NJCAA The JCCC golf team registered a 13th-place finish at the NJCAA Golf Championship at the Links of Sierra Blanca in Ruidoso, N.M. in 2006, which tied the third-best effort in team history. JCCC finished the 72­ hole championship with a team score of 1155, the best team stroke total in Cavaliers’ history. They beat the old mark set two years ago at Mariah Hills in Dodge City by 34 strokes. The team also recorded team round scores of 282, 284 and 288 which rank 1st, second and tied for third in team history. In addition to the team records set at the championship, several individual performances now are on top the charts in JCCC his­ tory. Freshman Matt Salome posted a team record total of 279, nine strokes under par. That total was 15 shots better than the previous best effort. Salome opened play with 68, the second lowest score recorded in a national tournament by a JCCC golfer. He followed with rounds of 70, 71 and 70. That performance earned him a tie for 20th overall. Freshmen Andrew Manley opened the tournament with a round of 67, the best round posted by a JCCC golfer in a national tournament. It ranks as the second lowest shot at any tournament in team history. Manley backed his record-setting effort with a 69 in the second round, becoming the first player in team history to post two rounds in the 60s in a national championship. He finished the tournament with rounds of 74 and 73 to finish with a 72-hole total of 283, five strokes under par, good for a tie for 30th. His 283 total and 30th place finish rank second and tied for seventh respectively in team history.

2006-07 12th Place NJCAA The Cavaliers golf team posted a 12th-place finish at the 2007 NJCAA Golf Championship at Longbow Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz. The Cavaliers finished with a team total score of 1191, the third-best total posted by a JCCC team in a national tournament. Individually, the Cavaliers were led by sophomore Matt Salome, who finished tied for 22nd with a 72-hole total of 290, six-over par. That ranks as the thirdbest score posted by a Cavalier in a national championship. Salome set JCCC’s national championship scoring record in 2006 with a nine-under par 279. His 22nd-place finish is the fourth-best effort posted by a Cavalier. Salome fired an even par 71 in both the first and second round, and finished with rounds of 75 and 73. Sophomore Andrew Manley and freshman Nate Sargent posted 14-over 298 scores for the tourna­ ment, placing them in a tie for 46th. Their 298 total ranks as the seventhbest score posted at nationals. Manley fired rounds of 74, 72, 77 and 75. Sargetn also had four rounds in the 70s, including a seaso-best 71 in the secon round. He also had two 74s and a 79. Freshman Keith Erickson finished tied for 63rd with a 305 total for the championship. His effort in the final round was key to helping JCCC tie for 12th overall. After three rounds, Erickson was tied for 82nd, but his final round 72 jumped him up 19 spots on the field. He had rounds of 80, 77 and 76 prior to his final round 72. His 305 total ties for 15th on JCCC’s championship chart.
