Gratitude is born in the hearts that take time to count up past mercies They are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

Charles Jefferson

Despair, depression, and a seemingly impossible situation is something that has the potential to suffocate you if you allow it. However, we have an anchor that keeps the soul, this anchor is Jesus, otherwise known as the source of our hope. Today,

miracles are treated as something only found in Bible times, but these are limitations that we put on God. “For nothing is impossible with God." Luke 1:37

The reason we are unable to see the miracles in our life and celebrate them is that we do not have an attitude of gratitude. The position of our heart is critical to starving the lies of the enemy in our ears. Gratitude keeps our minds focused on the fact that any battle is ours because the victory belongs to Jesus.

We must learn to dance and celebrate in the middle. In the story of the Israelites in Numbers 14, one of the reasons why the Israelites received punishment is because they lost sight of the blessing of freedom from the

Egyptians. They also were quick to forget the miracle of the parting of the Red Sea. Their hearts shifted from hearts of gratitude and they began to grumble and ask to be returned to Egypt. They did not know how to celebrate in the middle of the process.

Hopelessness presents itself when we forget to dig deep into the promises of God and affirm ourselves in the nature and faithfulness of God.

I am going to share the ways to celebrate in the middle and hold on to hope that is Jesus:

Posture

What is the position of your heart? Have a attitude of gratitude.

Focus Forward

It is easy to get distracted with others or the situation. Keep your eyes focused on the prize ahead.

Establish your Position in the Gap

If you get lost in the middle, look back at all he has brought you

through and the miracles He has performed.

Reaffirm through Repetition

Repeat as many times as necessary.

“Hope is called the anchor of the soul (Hebrews 6:19), because it gives stability to the Christian life. But hope is not simply a ‘wish’ (I

wish that such-and-such would take place); rather, it is that which latches on to the certainty of the promises of the future that God has made.” - RC Sproul rejoice
